With over 17 million subscribers, Comcast is one of the largest cable operators in the United States. Comcast selected Sandvine in 2008 to assist in the management of large consumer volumes and reduce network congestion. Comcast deployed Sandvine’s Fairshare Traffic Management solution to identify the types of traffic that are most impacted by congestion in order to create unique service packages that drive consumer demand away from peak traffic times, ultimately allowing for optimal bandwidth use for everyone on the network.
